Tom has 25 years’ experience working in IT, he spent 2 years working as Professor Stephen Hawking’s assistant, gaining valuable experience in problem solving and creative thinking.

The majority of Tom’s experience was gained when working for Cambridge University, both for Trinity College and Fitzwilliam College. Tom began working at Trinity as an IT assistant and before long became the deputy IT Manager. He then moved to Fitzwilliam College as the IT Manager.

In 2009, looking for a greater challenge Tom decided to take a new direction; he applied to and was accepted by VSO. In 2010 Tom began his placement with VSO in Kenya, working with a disability group at their Bombolulu Workshops in Mombasa as the IT Manager.

Since completing his VSO placement, Tom has remained in Kenya, working as a freelance IT consultant.
